We (my parents and I) spent over 300$ at the mall in Belks while they were having a sale.
Though, our experience during the shopping was horrible and quite embarrassing. While we were trying on clothes, we saw how nasty and dusty the changing rooms were. I have never in my life been in such cheap, dirty, run down dressing room with such tiny doors, especially for a Belks. My socks picked up so much dirt and dust off the dressing room floor that I had to shake them off before putting my shoes on. They will charge you a 100$ for a plain shirt but cant keep up the appearance and cleanliness of their own store. After we picked out our shirts and pants, we saw they was on sale. We took them to the counter to check out. Two employees ended up arguing with my father who was checking out saying the products we got wasn't on sale. They were trying to charge us full price when in fact, they was up to 50% off. Everyone in line behind had to watch. Another employee saw and happened to walk up and defended my father saying that the clothes was in fact on sale. The two employees said they wasnt aware of any sales despite the obvious glowing red sales signs on almost literally every rack in the store that they failed to see. The employee who defended my father had to take the two other employees directly to the racks and show them the sales to "prove" to them. A lot of our time and the peoples time behind us was wasted standing at that counter over something obvious. Please train more of your employees and clean your stores.
Love shopping the sales and specials. Find great deals for quality clothing. Lots of variety. Friendly stafd. Love that they will order for you.
Had a great sale. Mark works in the men's department and can't say enough about his customer service, knowledge, friendliness, always goes above and beyond to find or order for customers if possible.
Rude, awful customer service! Seriously clerk argued that I could not use a coupoun stating that it was expired and not for use on clearance when coupoun was received that day valid throughout the weekend and clearly stated good for regular, sale & clearance! Needless to say I used the coupon and it worked fine but everyone in line was shocked and making comments about the clerks rudeness! Won't be shopping at this Belk ever again!
Highly unsettling experience: I went in to Belk this evening to purchase a bottle of perfume; however, the older sales lady behind the counter was extremely rude and unhelpful. While testing perfumes, she asked my family to stop testing them, that we were leaving a cloud of perfume in the store. Wow!! When I asked her the difference between two different versions of one perfume in particular, she arrogantly replied with frustration (as though I were ignorant), "Well, they are different fragrances." I tried to explain that I was (obviously--duh!!) aware of that, but wanted to know the specific name of each. She could not even find that information, nor seemed interested in further assistance, so I told her to simply forget it, that I would look the information up online myself. On a positive note, there was a younger sales associate who quickly stepped in to help who was extremely polite....she was the antidote to the toxically-mannered older clerk. Kudos to her and a lost sale (and any future sales, for that matter!!) to the latter!!!
